Aston Villa name Carney Chukwuemeka transfer fee as Man Utd and two Prem rivals circle

Aston Villa will demand £20million for exit-linked midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka this summer, with Manchester United reportedly circling.
The 18-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and his situation has attracted lots of attention. He is one of England’s brightest young talents, but his future looks insecure.
Villa boss Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Chukwuemeka has had an offer to extend on the table “for some time now”. Gerrard has subsequently left the youngster out of his side’s pre-season tour squad.
And that move has heightened speculation that the Villa starlet could be on the move.
In a step up in such speculation, talkSPORT claims that the West Midlands club will demand £20million for Chukwuemeka.
The report adds that Man Utd, Manchester City and Newcastle are all keen on the rising star.
For now, his focus is on training at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training facilities. But as he moves into the final year of his current deal, the prospect of him leaving on a free transfer next summer is increasing.
Premier League clubs will either have to sign him this summer or at the end of next season.
In next year’s January transfer window, only overseas clubs can agree pre-contract agreements with players in England – and vice versa.
Chukwuemeka has further transfer interest
But that may give the likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund more incentive to go after Chukwuemeka.
talkSPORT claims that the European giants are similarly keen on the teenager.
They not only get a shot at signing him this summer, but if no one achieves a deal before the end of August, Dortmund and Barcelona will be first in line to try to seal a transfer.
talkSPORT adds that Villa would only be due a compensation fee in that particular instance.
Villa must tie down exciting youth
Villa have a history of developing exciting young English players, Jack Grealish being a standout recent example.
Jacob Ramsey is another talent who is blossoming under Gerrard at Villa Park.
Chukwuemeka could be next in line to benefit, but he reportedly has immediate concerns about his game time.
Villa must convince the England Under-19s star that his best option is to pen a new deal at Villa.
But as it stands, the fact that he is not on their pre-season tour is a sign that his exit this summer is a real possibility.
