Arsenal told why Gabriel Jesus capture would be a success, as Gunners urged to sign Man Utd target too

Darren Bent thinks Gabriel Jesus would be ‘brilliant’ if he went to Arsenal, while the pundit has also spoken about a possible move for Christopher Nkunku.
Jesus wants out at Manchester City this summer so he can become a regular starter elsewhere. He gets plenty of game time under Pep Guardiola, but fierce competition for places means he is unlikely to start every big match.
And with Erling Haaland arriving from Borussia Dortmund on July 1, Jesus could fall down the pecking order up front.
Arsenal are firmly in the mix for the Brazilian’s signature. However, they will have to fend off north London rivals Tottenham.
While appearing on talkSPORT, Bent was asked about Jesus. He said: “I’d like to see him go to Arsenal. I think he’d be brilliant.
“He’s not got a point to prove but I think he needs regular football and I think he’s more than good enough to score the goals to help Arsenal get back to where they’d like to get to.
“So I think that would be a really good addition to the squad.”
Bent also gave his verdict on RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Nkunku, who won the Bundesliga Player of the Season Award recently.
Darren Bent talks Gabriel Jesus, Christopher Nkunku moves
Nkunku, now a three-time France international, is on Manchester United’s radar. Bent reckons he would ‘fit the bill’ at Arsenal, although the price may put them off.
“[He would cost] a lot. There’s talk about him going back to Paris Saint-Germain,” Bent said.
‘”But I’d love him. I think he fits the bill, he can play centre-forward, he can play off the left, he can play off the right.”
As Bent mentions, PSG are eyeing a reunion with Nkunku. The 24-year-old came through the ranks there before leaving for Leipzig in 2019.
And should the forward opt to leave Leipzig, then PSG might be his priority. That’s because he recently spoke about his love for the French outfit.

Arsenal confidence grows about signing Gabriel Jesus from Man City
Arsenal have hope of signing Gabriel Jesus for £40m from Manchester City and are confident they can get a deal done
“Paris is my home, my favourite club. I don’t close any doors,” Nkunku admitted. “Everything is possible in football.
“It’s nice to have the biggest clubs in the world interested in me. But it’s also great to see that Leipzig are doing everything to keep me.”
It would be ambitious for United or Arsenal to move for Nkunku. After all, he will get Champions League football at Leipzig next season, and that is something the two English clubs cannot offer.
Plus, if PSG got in the mix for Nkunku then they would have the finances to blow United and Arsenal out of the water.
Meanwhile, Sassuolo have brought in a new striker to potentially replace Arsenal target Gianluca Scamacca, although there is still a sticking point for Mikel Arteta’s side.
