A lot of Tottenham players have now entered the final year of their contracts in north London, including club captain Son Heung-min.

According to reports, Spurs will trigger the one-year option in his contract but they could sell the 32-year-old in 2025.

“I don’t have anything to say at this point,” he said when asked about his future. “I feel a little uncomfortable with the situation. I am going to keep doing my best for Tottenham. I still have terms left on my contract.

“Money is not important to me. The most important thing is to play in a league that I enjoy playing in. I have so much more I want to accomplish in the Premier League.”

While Romero is under contract until 2027, Spurs are reportedly planning to offer a new contract to the centre-back in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid.

Werner initially joined Tottenham on a six-month loan deal in the January transfer window and they have agreed another year’s loan for Red Bull Leipzig striker.

The loan agreement also includes an option to buy for £8.5million, which can be activated at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Spurs are planning for the future as Bergvall and Gray – who are two of the most highly-rated young midfielders in Europe – are both tied down to long-term contracts.

They have also agreed a deal to sign Yang Min-hyeok from K League 1 side Gangwon FC, and the 18-year-old will officially join the club in January.

They have the sixth-highest wage bill in the Premier League, behind Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Following Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, Tottenham have no players on the £200,000-per-week mark.

Son is now their highest earner on £190,000-per-week and Maddison follows closely behind, taking home £170,000-per-week.

Richarlison is on a base salary of £90,000-per-week but his contract also includes a series of bonuses that could take his wage to £130,000-per-week.

Werner also has performance-related clauses in his contract, and he can earn an additional £35,000-per-week through bonuses.

Whiteman – who is the fourth-choice goalkeeper at Tottenham – earns just £7,500-per-week and is their lowest-paid first-team player at Tottenham.

While some agents avoid speaking to the media, Florian Manea revealed that Dragusin turned down a move to Bayern Munich before joining Tottenham in January.

“He didn’t choose the money,” he said. “There was more at Bayern. He said this is the right step for his career. He chose his career before money, and that is commendable.

“I don’t know how many would have refused the offer he had from Bayern. There were many who didn’t think we were turning down Bayern. I said this is the right step.”
