De Bruyne has enjoyed a trophy-laden career at City, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and the Champions League.

The 33-year-old Belgium international now faces an uncertain future at the Etihad as he has now entered the final year of his contract.

“Once the season goes on, I’m sure there will be conversations to be had with City,” he recently told reporters.

“I just want to feel good, play good football and this will come in the upcoming months. I don’t really feel the rush for the moment.”

But he has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League and TEAMtalk understands that City have identified Jamal Musiala as a potential replacement.

Bernardo Silva signed a contract extension at the Etihad in August 2023, although his new deal includes a £50million release clause.

Haaland has a £173million release clause in his contract but reports suggest that it can only be triggered by a club outside the Premier League.

Their wage bill is currently the highest in the Premier League in 2024/25. In Europe’s top five leagues, they are only behind Real Madrid (£228.4million-per-year) and Bayern Munich (£225.3million-per-year).

De Bruyne is on a £400,000-per-week contract, making him the highest-paid player at City and the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

He is closely followed by Haaland, who earns a base salary of £375,000-per-week. But the striker’s contract also includes a lot of relatively straightforward bonus clauses.

The Norway international could earn an additional £475,000-per-week in bonuses, taking his potential total to an eye-watering £850,000-per-week.

Foden currently earns £225,000-per-week but reports in England claim that the 24-year-old is in line to receive a pay rise that will take his weekly wages up towards £400,000.

“I think it is not necessary to say that Erling does what he wants,” she told Relevo when asked about Haaland’s future.

“It is not true. Erling is always going to do what is good for him and for his club, Manchester City. When everyone is willing to make a change, it will be done.

“He’s not the type of player who’s going to say: ‘I’m leaving, bye, I don’t want to know anything’. It is not like this. And it’s not going to happen because respect comes before everything. If they give it to him, he will give it too.”

Gundogan is represented by his uncle – who is the Head of Football at KIN Partners – and Jeremy Doku’s agent is his older brother, who works for the Elevate agency.
