The Premier League is one of the richest leagues in the world and a lot of the star players are on incredibly lucrative contracts.

The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are all willing to offer huge pay packets to help convince players to join their clubs.

We’ve taken a look at the 10 Premier League players with the highest weekly wage in the 2024/25 season.

Note: All figures mentioned are before tax and do not include the array of bonuses that are included in the fine print of every contract.

10. Kai Havertz – £280,000

Arsenal forked out an initial £60million and an additional £5million in potential add-ons to sign Havertz from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

Alongside the transfer fee, the Gunners also shelled out a significant pay packet as they are giving him a reported £280,000-per-week.

He usurped Gabriel Jesus as the highest-paid player at the Emirates and his contract also includes an additional £50,000-per-week in potential bonuses.

The Germany international silenced his critics in his debut season and established himself as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice striker.

9= Bruno Fernandes – £300,000

Fernandes has been Manchester United’s standout performer in recent years, winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award in 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2023/24.

He was linked with a move away in the summer transfer window but ultimately signed a new long-term contract and became the joint-second highest-paid player at Old Trafford.

The Portugal international is now earning a base salary of £300,000-per-week, which equates to around £15.6million-per-year. He can also get another £75,000-per-week in bonuses.

9= Jack Grealish – £300,000

One of four Manchester City players on this list, Grealish left Aston Villa and joined Pep Guardiola’s side in a £100million deal in 2021.

The England international got a significant wage increase, going from £125,000-per-week at his boyhood club to £300,000-per-week at the Etihad.

He had an underwhelming debut season before rediscovering his best form in 2022/23, helping City win the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League.

The 29-year-old fell down the pecking order following Jeremy Doku’s arrival and played a bit-part role in their 2023/24 campaign.

9= Marcus Rashford – £300,000

A Manchester United academy graduate, Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions in the 2022/23 season and was rewarded with a new five-year contract.

The 26-year-old now has a base salary of £300,000-per-week and can earn an additional £75,000-per-week in potential bonuses.

He failed to replicate his 2022/23 form during a difficult 2023/24 campaign but insists he is still highly motivated to help his boyhood club.

“The thing that I want you to understand is that money is not what keeps you playing through the hard times,” he said. “It’s the love of the game, plain and simple.”

9= Bernardo Silva – £300,000

Silva was offered a £500,000-a-week contract by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in 2023, but he rejected that lucrative offer and signed a contract extension with Manchester City.

“I would lie if I said I didn’t think [about the big-money offers from Saudi Arabia],” the Portugal international admitted.

“What interested me was the heat of playing a UEFA Champions League semi-final, listening to the [Etihad] stadium going wild after scoring against [Real] Madrid in the semi-finals or when we won the final against Inter. I didn’t want to give up on that.”

The new deal, which reportedly includes a £50million release clause, saw his wage packet at City double from £150,000-per-week to £300,000-per-week.

5. Raheem Sterling – £325,000

Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 and signed a five-year deal worth £325,000-per-week, making him the highest-paid player at Stamford Bridge.

He struggled to justify that huge pay packet in his first two seasons at the club, registering just 19 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

The 29-year-old is spending the 2024/25 season on loan at Arsenal and they are paying him £162,500-per-week, while Chelsea are still covering the other half of his wages.

4= Mohamed Salah – £350,000

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has helped the club win a Premier League title, an FA Cup, a League Cup, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

He was rewarded with a £350,000-per-week contract in 2022, which made him the highest-paid player in the club’s illustrious history.

His contract at Anfield also includes various performance-related bonuses and that figure could rise to £400,000-per-week.

But that deal is due to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season and TEAMtalk understands that the Saudi Pro League are prepared to make him one of the highest-paid players in footballing history.

4= Casemiro – £350,000

Casemiro enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Real Madrid, winning five La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey and five Champions Leagues.

He joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022 and signed a £350,00-per-week contract, although the Brazil international insisted that the money was not part of his thinking in accepting the switch.

“Those who think that don’t know me,” he said. “I’m not like that. If it was for money, then I could have left four or five years ago.

“The club always acted well with me. It was my decision. It was simply the feeling that my cycle here had come to an end. This was clear to me.”

He had a brilliant debut season at Old Trafford, helping United win the Carabao Cup and finish third in the Premier League.

But the 32-year-old has had a notable decline in form in the last 12 months and United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly looking to get his wages off the books.

2. Erling Haaland – £375,000

Manchester City won the race for Haaland’s signature in 2022 after triggering the £51.2million release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract.

City agreed to make the Norway international one of the highest earners in the Premier League and they are paying him a base salary of £375,000-per-week.

The striker justified those wages by scoring 52 goals in all competitions in his debut season before netting 38 goals in the 2023/24 campaign.

According to reports, Haaland’s contract also includes a number of relatively straightforward bonuses which could take his wage up to £865,000-per-week.

1. Kevin De Bruyne – £400,000

After Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United contract was terminated by mutual consent in November 2022, De Bruyne took his place as the Premier League’s highest earner.

The Manchester City midfielder last signed a contract extension in April 2021, which took his pay up to the £400,000-per-week mark.

He justified that wage increase by winning the Premier League Player of the Season award in 2021/22 before playing an integral role in City’s treble-winning campaign in 2022/23.

But the 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current season and is now considering an incredibly lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League.

“At my age you have to be open to everything,” he said. “You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.

“If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet.”
